  1. Reviw:Too Faced Shadow Insurance

    My Rating:

I don’t have particularly oily lids, but I do have combination skin. Sometimes I find it hard to wear eye shadow or liner because it migrates off my lids. This is particularly troublesome as the seasons change, and the balance of my skin changes; In order have a more finished/even  look I decided to use  the Too Faced Shadow Insurance to keep my eye makeup in place.

Now let me just tell you I’m one of those odd people for whom TFSI failed to work its magic on. Basically, the product itself is average:

    1. Firstly it didn’t stop my eye shadow from creasing. It delayed creasing, but it didn’t stop it.It didn’t last long enough for a full work day, and I started creasing after only 3 hours-4 hours.
    2. It also never seemed to blend as well as I would like, plus I had to wait 30 seconds for the product to  dry.
    3.  I hated the design. When I first opened it, some water leaked out of it. I had to closed it again, shake it and give it a little squeeze.  I’m almost sure that  in contact with air the formula dries significantly and this is causing the product to settle after a while.
    4.  If I try to apply some lighter eye shadows, the yellow undertone of the primer makes them fade away.

Yet, the only advantage of this primer is that it can act like a color corrector and create an even tone on my lids. Due to the creamy formula, I could apply it under my eye before I used a concealer.  The product sets the concealer, and helps to lock it in place and prevent it from settling into fine lines.

I noticed a significant discoloration on the color itself. With  my eye-shadows appear more vibrant and truer to the initial color.

Verdict: If I have to use a primer, I will stick to Urban Decay Primer Potion. In my opinion, Too Faced Shadow Insurance is a major disappointment.

  2. Review: Urban Decay Naked pallette

    My Rating:

I’m more of a *No-make -up make type* type of girl: flawless skin, sparkling eyes, peachy cheeks. Of course, easier said than done…

In my day-to-day life I try to make my outfit the focal point and have my make- up accentuate my personal style. I mostly try to do soft smoky, browns, or natural color looks, so the U D Naked pallet serves this purpose. This said, let me just put it out there:  this pallete is my all-time favorite!

I found it at Sephora on a weekend, ready just for some window-shopping, and I caved! At almost 30 euros, this product is well worth the cost imo; this amazing pallete contains all the colors I need. Strangely enough I feel complete and I don’t want to keep searching for the perfect eye shadows anymore. One good thing , I’m not interested in buying another brand.

The pallete itselt is so stylish with the chocolate brown velvet look, and a perfect size to take it in vacation, or carry it in a clutch to refresh your make-up. The shadows are well pigmented and  they blend really nicely; Moreover,  they are easy to work with, a definite plus if you don’t have much time to apply make up in the morning. In addition to the gorgeous shadows, I also got a Urban Decay’s best-selling Primer Potio ( which is amazing )and a double ended pencil (also pretty good).

My take on this pallete: 5 stars. It truly lives up to the expectations! xoxo
