  1. Make Up For Ever HD Microperfecting Primer

    November 1, 2015 by donnaalba19

I’m always on the lookout for new products that will even out my skin tone, allowing foundation to glide over flakey patches and last longer throughout the day. Unfortunately this MUFE Primer is not one of them.

It promises to balance the color of your skin and reduce redness so obviously I was very excited to try it out and see how it’s color correcting function performs. I didn’t honestly see any difference .

Not even a slight fade in the overall redness of my skin. What’s worse, it made my skin break out like there is no tomorrow.
I apply the primer after moisturizering and then I follow-up with liquid foundation; I’m sure the MUFE primer is an unnecessary layer that’s causing my skin to itch and feel dry.It actually appears cakey in an hour time after it absorbs the product’s moisture.

It does not increase the staying power of my foundation and it has the most hurrendous scent.  It literally smells like wet paint.
On a positive note, the packaging is not too bad. It’s very easy to control the pump and it helps to dispense the product properly.
Verdict : I wouldn’t repurchase it ! 45 euros wasted on an expensive product that fails to deliver.

  2. Chanel Vitalumiere:Fluide de Teint Eclat

    January 1, 2012 by donnaalba19

    My Rating:

I bought this foundation almost a year ago at the airport in Nice, and I’ve been using it ever since alternatively with Estée Lauder Maximum Cover Camouflage Makeup and Yves Saint Laurent- Teint Resist. I usually never wear one single foundation; i like mixing different shades and create my own combination 🙂
I have uneven skin tone so foundation is an absolute must for me; Like mascara or morning coffee for some people:) (I’m not though a OOC narcissist that has to wear make up every single time she leaves the house ^^ )

    * First and foremost, this is a foundation for dry or mature skin; to people with oily or combination skin, you would better stay away from this, if you don’t want to look like a big shiny disco ball.

    * It’s extremely moisturizing to be used in the winter, and it doesn’t clog my pores.
    * What I like the most about Vitalumiere is that it makes look refreshed and well-rested.
    * The coverage is light/medium, very even and it gives you a glowy, satin look.
    * I apply it with my fingers ( I’m just that lazy in the morning), but normally I would apply this with a brush for a more “airbrushed”-dewy-look; afterwards, I blend it slowly with my fingers so that the foundation melts into my under-eye wrinkles and pores.
    * It does come off on almost everything (in the first hour or so), so I usually wait for the product to dry and then gently tap the skin with a napkin to take the shine off.
    * It’s finish and texture is flawless and it photographs so well, that I will give this a 4/5.The price bites ( 42 Euros) but then again, with Chanel you pay for quality & you see where your money goes.

PS: For the winter I mix my Chanel Vitalumière (I have it in no 30- Cendré/Shell) with Estée Lauder Maximum Cover Camouflage Makeup( 03 Light/Medium). Simply. Flawless.

Hope you all have a wonderful year!!♥

  3. Summer beauty tip: Guerlain Tinted Moisturizer

    My Rating:

I’ve only heard good things about Guerlain: high quality products with a luxurious texture and  a good value for the money you are paying.

    Naturally, I wanted to try something out, so I decided to purchase a foundation. I’m definitely one of those girl who are constantly looking for the perfect foundation, so when  I’m ready to splurge on some make up items, is usually the foundation;

I went to Sephora last winter looking to buy a sheer foundation, one that would allow my pores to breathe. I ended up buying this product. And thank god i did!

To be fair, I was a little bit worried at first. I tried it on but it looked a bit fake and dark. The color didn’t match my skin tone so I figured out i will do like the make up artist, and blend this mismatch color for the perfect one. Needless to say this product is just for the summer time, at least for me. With a natural tan and a small dub of this, I look  fresh and healthy. And that’s all I care for.

The application is somewhat sheer– I would say about one-half the coverage of a normal foundation .  This allows a bit of your natural skin to peek through.  It lasts well through a day.

What I usually do, is apply the tinted moisturizer and then spray a little bit of Evian Mineral Water . It tones down a bit of the shimmer, and it looks more natural/healthy, plus its barely detectable on the face.Overall an excellent product well worth the price (40 euros).
