  1. DYI: L’Oréal Professionnel hair coloring

    My Rating:

I used to visit my hairstylist once every two months for coloring my roots, in between one or two trims. This was before I moved to another country (France).. and changed some of my habits..
Everyone who has experienced living abroad, may resonate with me when I’m saying that it comes a time when you get to be a bit off, financially speaking. … In my case, self-indulgence at a salon or a spa was no longer an option.
SO, I had to consider other alternatives… Luckily, I was able to find an excellent shop PRO COIFFURE ESTHETIQUE that commercializes professional coloring cream. I purchased Majirel, from L’oréal Proffesionnel line in 9.13 -Very light beige blonde.

And I was more than happy with the result. The only downside is that I literally had to do it myself! 🙁

Majarel cream is used in a mixture: one 50 ml tube is blended with 75 ml L’oreal Professionnel 30 volume (9%) cream oxidant. The cream plus the oxidant cost me around 17 euros… not bad for a professional coloring cream that save me about 20 euros from a “professional hand “.

-I have applied it to the roots of dry, unwashed hair using a brush bought from the same place.
-Waited for about 40 minutes ..
-5 minutes before the end of the development time, I added 5-10ml of warm water to the remaining mixture of the color and took it through the lengths and the ends.
-Plus, I only used half of the tube for my roots: 25 ml of cream and 37 ml of oxidant.

If you are not a neophyte to the home coloring technique and already know all the tricks, I seriously recommend that you take a trip down to your local beauty store ( if you have one) and buy yourself some professional coloring cream.
